The City of Cambridge wanted to create a dynamic new digital presence that included expanded online services, improved accessibility and greater community engagement. A big part of that undertaking was creating a brand new Cambridge Centre for the Arts website to help residents get involved in the city’s amazing community arts programming and events.
Originally, all Centre for the Arts content was buried in a section of the City of Cambridge website. By creating a unique web presence with its own top-level domain, the Centre now caters to the needs of an audience looking for specific, targeted information.
After consultations with community members and key stakeholders, the new website is user-friendly, fully accessible and mobile-friendly. An intuitive information architecture makes finding programs, events, exhibitions and arts centre announcements easy. A calendar of events allows users to subscribe to event notifications. A photo gallery lets you explore favourite Centre for the Arts moments and a news feed keeps you up-to-date on announcements, with the option for updates sent directly to your inbox.
Above all, the new website supports the Centre for the Arts in its most important mission – encouraging Cambridge residents to discover their creative side. With a lively design and big, bold colours, the website reflects the energy of the growing community arts scene and provides a solid foundation for creativity to flourish in Cambridge.

“The arts centre, which is a creative and artistic space in our community, has always been a hub for great programming. The new website allows our growing arts and culture community the opportunity to further engage with the centre in new ways.”
